     April 12, 2020 - June 30, 2020
     8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Medical facilities and Senior Centers all over the country are being impacted by the pandemic. Here are three safe at home ways you can help out the Los Angeles LGBT center.

1)  Masks! The Health Services staff sent an urgent request for donated masks to be distributed to patients visiting the medical facilities in compliance with local and national orders to wear face coverings. Please help support patients as well as senior and youth members who are also in need of protection. If you’re able, please donate purchased or handmade masks or unused bandanas, which will immediately go to community use. As it stands, we’re looking at more than 400 being used daily.

2)  Greeting Cards for Seniors! Here is a chance to be creative! Buy or make your own homemade greeting card to send a little love and cheer to our LGBT Seniors. Technology can be challenging for Seniors, and since technology is the main tool we are using to feel connected right now, this is especially hard for our Seniors in isolation. Take a moment to make a Senior feel connected and valued, make a card and send it to:

Mail Card(s) to:
Gay For Good
Attn: Cards 4 Seniors
6444 E. Spring St. Box 321
Long Beach, CA 90815

3)  Send Messages of Inspiration! Share your messages of positivity and support ! Take a short video clip of yourself spreading some cheer and inspiration and email it to volunteer@lalgbtcenter.org. Feel free to use your cell phone, laptop webcam, or camera! They’ll pass along messages to Senior Services, the Youth Center, and Medical Patients at the McDonald Wright building.

Bonus! We’d love to brag about how awesome you are and share the impact you are making from home.  Before you drop your masks or cards in the mail, take a #selfie or picture and share them on your social media. Be sure to tag @gayforgood
