TIME: 10:45 am to 1:00 pm
PLACE: 11870 Monarch Street, Garden Grove, CA 92841
Join us at the OC Food Bank, one of our yearly projects. We will be assembling boxes and packing them with canned and boxed food for low income clients through an assembly line system. This project is fast paced and high energy, but very fun! Dress appropriately for a warehouse (no sandals or flip-flops). Our Gay for Good Volunteers will work the shift with other volunteers groups You’ll be amazed how many boxes we can pack for their clients! You can check out their volunteer page with a short video of a group like ours working in the warehouse at: http://www.ocfoodbank.org/volunteer/index.html
Orange County Food Bank
There are nearly 456,000 people at risk for hunger every month in Orange County. Hunger touches people of every age, race, ethnic group and neighborhood. In some families, hunger occurs when a sudden emergency or crisis hits, but for most low-income families, hunger has become a long-term condition of poverty. The Orange County Food Bank works with over 336 charities, food banks, and community organizations to end hunger and malnutrition. The Food Bank provides USDA commodities, federal-fund purchased food, and donated food to different non-profit agencies in Orange County that serve low-income families and individuals.
