G4G Twin Cities + Second Harvest Heartland I July 27, 2023

Join Gay For Good Twin Cities as we help Second Harvest Heartland!

Second Harvest Heartland addresses and looks to end hunger through food distribution, partnership, and innovation.

Our G4G volunteers will help sort, label, weigh, and pack various food items to meet immediate needs and help feed our hungry neighbors.

*All ages are welcome.

We are looking for 20 volunteers to help. Sign up early as our events have been filling up very quickly!

Date:  Thursday, July 27, 2023
Time:  6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Location: Brooklyn Park Volunteer Center, 7101 Winnetka Avenue N. Brooklyn Park, MN 55428

What to Wear: 

• Shirts must cover the shoulders, armpits, and bellies (no tank tops or crop tops) for food safety purposes. Shorts are okay to wear.
• Closed-toe shoes are required. If you forget we will ask you to wear a set of disposable socks and slip-on clogs.
• Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty.
• We suggest you dress in layers to remain comfortable while working as temperature can fluctuate.
• No jewelry. You will be asked to remove all watches, fit bits, earrings, rings, bracelets, necklaces and other jewelry items. It is almost impossible to get back a jewelry item that is lost in the repack process.

Afterwards we will meet up at a restaurant in the area for some fun and connection.  Place yet to be determined.

Important: Two-part registration is required, register with Gay For Good and with Second Harvest Heartland. Each volunteer must create a profile with Second Harvest and sign their waiver to reserve their spot.
