     May 26, 2024
     6:00 am - 8:00 am

Help us honor our fallen heroes this Memorial Day Weekend!

Join us this Memorial Day weekend as we partner with Flags for Fort Snelling honoring our fallen by placing flags by their headstones.

Date: Sunday, May 26
Time: 6 am- 8am
Location:  Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55450

Additional Details:

  • Each registered volunteer is responsible for 100 – 130 flags, which will weigh up to 15 pounds. Please make sure you are physically able to lift upwards of 15lbs for an extended period!
  • Children 12 and under cannot be counted towards the total number of people you register for. This is because we only account for those who are able to independently commit to the 150-180 flags.
  • Flag Placement will happen rain or shine, dress for the weather!
  • We highly recommend bringing a screwdriver to help create an initial pilot hole at each headstone, this helps especially when the ground is dry.
  • We encourage you to wear gloves. Many volunteers in the past have gotten blisters from placing so many flags!
  • Proper Flag Placement can be viewed here;  https://youtu.be/FUkylBFwkLk and will also be re-iterated during check-in on the day of your shift
