G4G Seattle + Furniture Repair Bank | November 10, 2024

Join G4G Seattle as we save unwanted furniture from the landfill with Furniture Repair Bank.  During this event we will be assisting with a saving furniture that will then be later repaired and provided to families in need.  

 

Date: Sunday, November 10, 2024

Time: 10:00am – 5:00pm

Please note this event has multiple shifts and volunteers will be working at different times in groups of 3.

• Shift 1 – Collecting:   3 Volunteers (10:00AM – 12:30PM)
  • 2 people to help with talking to customers
  • 1 person with some strength to help load furniture from the truck

• Shift 2 – Collecting:   3 Volunteers (12:30PM to 3:00PM)
  • 2 people to help with talking to customers
  • 1 person with some strength to help load furniture from the truck

• Shift 3 – Unloading:   3 Volunteers (3:30 PM – 5:00 PM – please note this shift MAY need you to start a little earlier, you will be alerted via text message if this shift will start early)
  • All volunteers for this shift require some strength to help unload the furniture from the truck

 

Location: will depend on your shift…

• Shifts 1 & 2 will be at the South Transfer Station – 130 S Kenyon St, Seattle, WA 98108
• Shift 3 will be at the Furniture Repair Bank – 1914 Occidental Ave S, Unit C Seattle, WA 98134

Transportation:

• South Transfer Station
• Furniture Repair Bank – About 6 parking spots in front of the unit plus additional street parking
• Both locations can be accessible via public transportation as well

 

This volunteer event will happen rain or shine.  The South Station has tents to help protect collected furniture and provide some shelter, but it is recommended to dress for the weather.
