G4G SF Bike Build 2025 Service Event
Gay For Good volunteers will be supporting the Rotary Club of San Francisco and the Bayview Hunters Point YMCA at their 15th Annual Bike Build event. We will be assembling 150 brand new bikes for distribution to kids in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade in the Bayview area of San Francisco. Help us bring smiles to 150 kids!
Date: Saturday, April 26, 2025
Event Time: 8am – 4pm (Split over 2 shifts)
Location: Bayview Hunter’s Point YMCA 1601 Lane Street, San Francisco, CA 94124
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your shift for introductions and group photo.
VOLUNTEER SHIFTS & TASKS:
We ask that you only sign-up for one shift to allow more volunteers to participate at this service event. Shift #1 runs 5 hours and shift #2 runs 3 hours. Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided throughout the day.
Shift 1: 8:00am–1:00pm: Bike Assembly (30 positions, 5 hours)
Shift 2: 1:00pm–4:00pm: Bike Distribution and Cleanup (12 positions, 3 hours)
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Public Transit: The T Light rail stop 3rd & Revere and buses 23, 44 & 54 stop nearby on Lane Street.
Food and Snacks: Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided to volunteers.
Recommended Attire: Please wear comfortable shoes as you will be on your feet. Volunteers are encouraged to wear their Gay For Good t-shirts.
COVID Guidelines: Masks are optional. Please cancel if you are not feeling well.
Age Requirements: Volunteers must be 21 years of age.
