Join Gay For Good San Francisco For Our May Service Event

Gay For Good volunteers will be helping run the Parkinson’s Foundation Moving Day 2024, A Walk for Parkinson’s.  Our volunteerism in Moving Day isn’t just about supporting the life-changing work of the Parkinson’s Foundation; it is about offering hope to everyone affected by this disease.

Date: Saturday, May 4
Time: Multiple Shifts from 7am–3pm (Volunteers can sign up for one shift or multiple shifts as long as they don’t overlap.)

Shifts Include:

  • Walk Day Set Up (8 volunteers needed from 7am–9am)
  • Registration/Donations (4 volunteers needed from 8:30am–Noon)
  • Walk Route (13 volunteers needed from 10am–Noon)
  • Walk Day Clean Up (5 volunteers needed from Noon–3pm)

Location: Crissy Field, located at 1199 Crissy Field Ave, San Francisco, CA 94129. Look for directional signage as you approach the parking area.  This is in the area of Crissy Field that is across from Sports Basement (610 Old Mason St, San Francisco, CA 94129) so we recommend putting that address into Google Maps. Limited parking is available at 650 Mason St. You may also park in the following lots for $2-3 per hour: 649 Mason St, 87 Graham Street, 1031 Girard Street, 28 Gorgas Street lot, or Javowitz Street lot.

Recommended Attire: Moving Day will take place rain or shine. Check the weather forecast to prepare accordingly. Should conditions warrant any change, we will announce it via email.

Project Leads: Bryan (he/him) and Bill (he/him)

About Our Partner: The Parkinson’s Foundation makes life better for people with Parkinson’s disease by improving care and advancing research toward a cure. In everything we do, we build on the energy, experience, and passion of our global Parkinson’s community.
