WHAT: Join Gay For Good San Francisco and our friends at the National AIDS Memorial to help with the storage of the AIDS Memorial Quilt.

Following the recent 35th anniversary display of 3000 panels of the quilt in Golden Gate Park, we’ll be carefully shaking out the panels to make sure they’re in suitable condition, then folding, for storage. We’ll be working both inside and outside – weather permitting – the storage facility in San Leandro.

Whether or not you attended the recent display, it’s a great opportunity to get up close to the incredible quilt to view the touching tributes to those lost to AIDS.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • Carpooling options will be shared with registered volunteers prior to the event.
  • Water and snacks will be available, but we recommend bringing your own bottle.
  • Wear layers, the facility may be cool.
