Join Gay For Good San Francisco For Our Thanksgiving Service Event

Gay For Good volunteers will be supporting GLIDE Memorial‘s mission by assisting with their Daily Free Meals Program.  Glide’s Daily Free Meals Program provides three nutritious meals a day, 364 days a year, to the poor, homeless and hungry.

Thanksgiving is a special time for all of us, spending time with friends & family, and an abundance of food & cheer. Consider spending part of your morning giving some holiday spirit to those in need by serving Thanksgiving meals at one of the three shifts.

Date: Thursday, November 28, 2024
Time: 6:30AM-1:30PM PST— Thanksgiving Meal Services
Location: GLIDE Memorial is located at 330 Ellis Street, San Francisco, CA 94102.
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your shift.  Follow signs to the Volunteer Check-in Tents in the GLIDE Parking Lot.

VOLUNTEER SHIFTS & TASKS

Shift 1: 6:30 AM – 9:30 AM: Early Meal Service  (6 positions, 3 hours)

Shift 2: 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Glide on the Go (6 positions, 2.5 hours)

Shift 3: 10:30 AM- 1:30 PM: Lunch Meal Service (6 positions, 3 hours)

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

Public Transit: Near the Powell BART/Muni Station

Check-In Location: Please follow signs to the Volunteer Check-in Tents in the GLIDE Parking Lot. The easiest access is via the sidewalk at Ellis and Taylor just past the GLIDE Main Entrance on Ellis.

Orientation: Please review the orientation video here prior to your shift. 

Personal Items:  Please refrain from bringing large personal items (purses, backpacks, etc.). GLIDE will have a limited self-service coat check at one of the check-in tents.

Recommended Attire: Please wear comfortable shoes as you will be on your feet. Volunteers are encouraged to wear their Gay For Good T-shirts.  Gloves and hairnets will be provided by Glide.

COVID Guidelines: Masks are optional. Please cancel if you are not feeling well.  Please have a copy of your proof of vaccination available upon arrival.

Age Requirements: Volunteers must be 21 years of age.
