G4G San Francisco and Castro Night Market

Join us to launch the inaugural Castro Night Market! This event will be bringing fun and community spirit to the Castro with local food vendors, merchants, and live entertainment. There will be several Night Markets a year, adding an exciting new tradition to one of San Francisco’s most iconic neighborhoods!

Date: Friday, October 18, 2024
Time: 5:00pm – 9:00pm
Event Location: 18th Street between Hartford & Collingwood
Volunteer Sign-In: The Walgreen’s parking lot. Can be entered on 18th Street behind Walgreens or off of Collingwood between 18th and Market. Look for the Volunteer tent and grab a volunteer t-shirt.

Volunteer Shifts & Tasks
We’ve been asked to support this first Castro Night Market with several tasks – before, during and after the event.  Please sign up for what you can on this Friday evening as follows:

Set Up: 5 positions
Time: 12PM – 5PM
Tasks: Before the event: Support vendors during load-in, set up signage, distribute materials, etc.

Event Support: 10 positions
Time: 5PM – 9PM
Tasks: During the event: Waste management, traffic and crowd management, staff the event information booth, welcome attendees to the event, etc.

Strike: 5 positions
Time: 8PM – 11PM
Tasks: Help to clear the event space of vendors and equipment, signage, trash/garbage recycling, etc.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

Wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate layers for the time of your shift. And be sure to take some time before or after to enjoy yourself at the Castro Street Market!
