Happy New Year! New year, new exciting opportunities! Join us as we partner with our friends at San Diego Parks & Recreation to plant trees!  San Diego Parks & Recreation have a goal of planting 5000 trees by February 2024 and we will be helping them reach this goal. They will give us guidance on how to plant trees so that the trees will live a long and healthy life.  This is a great opportunity to get outdoors and give back to our planet!

Date: Saturday, January 20
Time:  9am–12pm
Location: Los Penasquitos County Canyon Preserve (12020 Black Mountain Road, San Diego CA 92129)

Parking:  Parking is available at the location and in the adjacent dirt lot. Overflow parking is north off Canyonside Park Driveway.

Additional Details:

  • Face coverings are encouraged to be worn by unvaccinated volunteers
  • Casual and comfortable clothing
  • Closed toe shoes are required
  • Pants are encouraged
  • Don’t forget sunscreen and/or a hat for sun protection
  • Bring a water bottle or two and a snack
  • Feel free to bring work gloves
  • Wear layers in case it is cold
  • Limited to 25 volunteers
