G4G OC/Long Beach + New Directions for Women 11/6/2022

Put on your painting clothes and a pair of closed toed shoes and join G4G OC/Long Beach as we volunteer with New Directions for Women to paint their Faith House (women and children’s house), the Daycare area, and the Group Room. We have a total of 40 volunteer slots available for this activity, and it will be another exciting opportunity to make new friends while engaging with the local community.

Age requirement: 14 and older (Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.)

About our partner: For over four decades, New Directions for Women has been committed to supporting and treating all women suffering from Substance Use Disorder and related issues. We have served over 5,000 women and more than 600 children, and we facilitated the birth of more than 200 babies while their mothers completed our program. We are nationally known for serving pregnant women, and women with their children, and we are the only facility in Orange County that allows women to bring their children into treatment with them. In the past year, New Directions for Women has helped hundreds of women get, and stay, sober, and we happily welcomed the birth of three healthy babies while their mothers were patients at NDFW. Our grounds are safe and serene, and our programs help women and families grow and heal. Updating spaces will only add to the women and children’s experiences and healing process, and we are thrilled you and your volunteers will help us make the living and group/play environments more beautiful.
