Volunteer With G4G at UH Manoa – Ka Papa Lo’i O Kanewai for a Cleanup Event

Join us for this great opportunity to clean in and around Lo’i and learn about harvesting crops in a Native Hawaiian cultural setting

Date: Saturday, March 8, 2025

Time: 8:30am – 11:00am

Location: 2645 Dole St (On UH Campus), Honolulu, HI 96822

Volunteer Slots: 15

Ages: 16+

What To Wear/Bring: Bring a water bottle. Wear work/swim clothes that you don’t mind getting wet or dirty and comfortable hiking shoes, tabis, or slippers (best) that you don’t mind getting wet or dirty. Sunscreen advisable.

Parking/Transportation: Buses go to the UH Campus. Parking in adjacent spaces where permitted on Dole St or free parking in ramp next to 2645 Dole St (Dole St Parking Structure – free on Saturdays).

About Our Partner: As a cultural resource center, Kānewai focuses its work on perpetuating and preserving Native Hawaiian practices such as wetland kalo cultivation, traditional hale construction and preparation of cultural foods and propagation of Native Hawaiian plants. These events provide community members, young and old, to engage in mālama ‘āina and learn about indigenous Hawaiian knowledge of natural resource management and food production.
