  • G4G NYC + GMHC AIDS Walk
     May 19, 2024
     7:00 am - 2:00 pm

G4G NYC is partnering with Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC) to support this year’s AIDS Walk New York—the world’s largest and most visible HIV/AIDS fundraising event. Led by GMHC, the event also supports other tri-state AIDS service, social justice, and/or public health organizations. We have multiple positions open to help the event run smoothly.

Date: Sunday, May 19
Location: Naumburg Bandshell, Central Park (M1, M2, M3, M4, M72 bus lines, B, C, 4, 6 subway)

  • Green Team (7–11:30am)
Duties: Keep the venue clean and beautiful by providing clean-up support throughout the day, including maintaining trash and recycling receptacles. Requires standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Venue Checkpoint (8–11:30am)
Duties: Hand out snacks and drinks to participants in the venue area.
  • Route Marshalls (7am–2pm)
Duties: This role requires a mandatory Saturday (May 18) orientation from 10–11am. Stationed at specific locations and intersections along the route, assist with and facilitate the flow of pedestrian, park cyclist, and Walker traffic. Marshalls do not direct vehicular traffic. Marshalls are responsible for keeping Walkers within the delineators, cheering on and supporting the Walkers, as well as responding to and reporting any medical situations that may arise in conjunction with First Aid/Medical Services. Requires standing for long periods of time.

Please Note: Your shift may mandate you to work individually or be situated away from your fellow volunteers. For any questions, please reach out to the project lead Ryan.

Age Requirement: 18+
