G4G LA + Harvey Milk Day of Service | May 18, 2024

Join G4G LA for our annual Harvey Milk Day of Service project! This year in support of an LAUSD elementary school in South LA, we’ll be cleaning, gardening, landscaping and refreshing this green space on the school’s campus. We’ll be working with school and community members, so this is a great opportunity to support the students, and celebrate Harvey Milk’s Legacy.

Date: Saturday, May 18
Time: 9am – 1pm
Location: 24th Street Elementary School (2055 W 24th Street, LA 90018)

There is ample street parking near the school.

We will have a table set up in front of the school’s parking lot (closed on the weekends) to welcome volunteers. There are two schools located on 24th Street. This is the school located closest to Western Ave. Once you arrive, you’ll check in with our partner org GSF staff, and sign waivers and head back to the garden.

What to Wear: Be sure to wear your G4G gear! And closed-toe shoes are required in the garden. Please wear old comfy clothes that are school appropriate and you don’t mind getting dirty.

What to Bring: A hat, sun protection, and a water bottle and work gloves.

Lunch is Provided!  A light lunch of sandwiches and chips will be provided by our partners at Sprouts.
