G4G Denver is serving “Gay for Groceries” at Metro Caring!

Come on over the Metro Caring for an afternoon of shelf-stocking, aisle-strutting, community care, and produce play.

Metro Caring works in community to meet people’s immediate food needs while addressing the root causes of hunger: poverty. They provide nutritious groceries to their neighbors, and offer comprehensive anti-hunger resources so that families can break the cycle of poverty.

Date: Sunday, June 12
Time: 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Location: 1100 E 18th Ave, Denver, CO 80218

Project tasks: Sorting food donations, stocking shelves, managing the warehouse, checking in neighbors, helping folks bring groceries to their vehicles.

Volunteers Needed: 10
Age restrictions: 14+

What to bring:

• Closed-toed shoes due for safety, as we the warehouse is very active.
• If the weather is cold, a warm jacket as the warehouse and tents run cold.
• A water bottle to stay hydrated!
• MC does have lockers available to put away items during the shift. The do not provide locks, but volunteers are more than welcome to bring their own.

COVID:

• Masks must be worn at all times.
• Metro Caring requires all volunteers to be fully vaccinated and will ask for proof on the day of the project. (Vaccine boosters are not required.)
