Come Out And Help “Green Up” Dallas-Fort Worth

Gay For Good DFW is partnering with Texas Trees Foundation’s Branching Out program which strategically plants trees with the intentions to increase the current Dallas tree canopy coverage, while providing shade and other health benefits.

Date: Saturday, April 1
Time: 9am–12pm
Location: 6801 Mountain Creek Pkwy Dallas, TX 75248 (Park in the Woods local parking.)

Additional Information: We will be moving mulch and planting trees. Please wear clothing that is okay to get dirty. Closed toe shoes are required. All tools are provided. We encourage volunteers to bring their own gloves, but we do have some available. Snacks and water are provided at park plantings but please bring your own water if possible.

Project Leader: Greg L.
Volunteers Needed: 15
Age Restrictions: We can accept volunteers 12 and older with a parent or guardian. Each participant will need to register with Gay For Good and Texas Trees Foundation.

This service project will require a second registration with Texas Trees Foundation which will be shared later.

COVID Guidelines: We are closely monitoring CDC recommendations regarding the spread of COVID-19. As our events take place outside, we currently leave it up to volunteer to decide if they would like to wear a mask.

The Mission of the Texas Trees Foundation is (i) to preserve, beautify and expand parks and other public natural green spaces, and (ii) to beautify our public streets, boulevards and rights-of-way by planting trees and encouraging others to do the same through educational programs that focus on the importance of building and protecting the “urban forest” today as a legacy for generations to come.
