     9:00 am - 12:30 pm

G4G Columbus is calling all handy volunteers! We have a unique opportunity in partnership with Modcon Living – a nonprofit organization dedicated to sustaining homes and communities. For this event we will be helping a fellow neighbor with a code violation, spreading out a large dirt pile.  Other tasks we will be helping with in and around her home include: spreading gravel in the driveway, repairing and anchoring deck railing, pressure washing aluminum siding, mowing, trimming, and general yard maintenance, and other home repairs.

The homeowner, Marcella Wilson, is a retired nurse who has lived in her home for 30 years. Her love for family, friends, and the world is deep and genuine, and you will feel it from the moment you meet her. Read more about Marcella below!

*Volunteers must fill out the waiver before attending the event. *

There will be ModCon staff onsite to help facilitate and tackle these projects. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow for sign-in and the safety meeting. Afterward we will try to do a lunch nearby!

Date: Saturday, June 10th

Time: 9:00am – 12:30pm

Location: 1300 Clarfield Ave, Columbus, OH 43207

Project Lead: Mike

Additional Details: Please dress in cool, comfortable work clothes and closed-toe shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. All tools will be provided. Street parking will be available.

A special note from our partner:
“We are so excited for our volunteers to meet our homeowner, Marcella Wilson – and she is SO excited to meet all of you!

Marcella is an amazing woman. Her love for family, friends, and the world is deep and genuine and you will feel from the moment you meet her. You can hear it in her voice when she speaks of her late husband, Albert Edwin Patterson, an Army veteran who served in Vietnam, or when she reminisces about the years she served as a nurse practitioner. You will certainly feel it when she speaks about her home; a home that she gave life and love from the day she moved in over thirty years ago and made a home for her young son and growing daughter from a house that was once overtaken by ivy and weeds but lovingly restored and uncovered by her own hands over the years. Marcella is so proud of her home. She had spent years living in uncertain conditions before becoming a property owner. At the time, Marcella chose her neighborhood for its family-friendliness, and she feels so fortunate that it continues to maintain that feeling.”
