Let’s Clean the Beach!

Volunteer with us as we join Chicago Beach CleanUp (CBCU)! We will meet up at the beach, and CBCU will disperse the cleanup supplies. After an introduction, we split up into small groups of 3-5 people and walk through the beach, picking up litter as we come across it. At the end, we meet back up to weigh the amount of litter collected and take a group photo.

Time: 10am – 12pm

Location: Osterman Beach ,5800 North Jean-Baptiste Pointe DuSable Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60640

IMPT:

• • All volunteers will have to sign a liability waiver online with CBCU. Volunteers will be provided the link at a later date.

• • CBCU also uses a platform called Pie to orchestrate communication for volunteer groups. Signing up will be optional. More information will be sent to volunteers at a later date.

What To Wear/Bring:

• Wear Comfortable clothing as we will be in the sun (weather permitting) and shoes that are comfortable for walking on sand.
• CBCU will bring 50 SPF sunscreen, but volunteers may wish to bring higher SPF or their own bottle.
• CBCU will bring M and XL gloves for collecting litter, volunteers who need alternate sizing may want to bring their own.
• CBCU provides a few trash grabbing tools, but if a volunteer wants a guarantee that they’ll have one, they may want to bring one of their own.
