Join Us as We Partner With Care for Real to Distribute Food to Those in Need

Volunteers will be assisting with food distribution, which takes place both outdoors and indoors. You may be packing carts of food, bringing food to clients, packing bags, or stocking shelves.

Time: 8:30am – 11:15am

Location: 5840 N Broadway Ave Chicago, IL 60660

IMPT: ALL volunteers need to register on Care For Real’s site- if you are not registered with Care for Real on Volunteer Hub by 3 days before the event, you will lose your spot. Full Details Below!

Volunteer Slots: 10

Ages: 18+

Project Lead: Gail (she/her)

What To Wear/Bring: Dress for the weather, may be indoors or outdoors. Closed toed shoes are required.

Parking/Transportation: Close to the Thorndale Red Line stop, and accessible by buses on/near Broadway Ave. There is no on site parking. There is paid street parking on Broadway. We recommend arriving early to allow time to find parking.

• After registering with G4G visit our group page here 
• Click “Create Account” and choose a username and password. You’ll then be directed to a registration form
• After creating your account, the website will prompt you to sign a waiver.
• Click on the “Events” tab, find the shift assigned to your group, and click “Sign up”.
• Be sure to click the option with your group’s name once prompted.
• You will automatically receive FAQs with information on what to expect for your shift.
• On the day of service, please remember to sign in and out using your name or username created to track volunteer hours.
• *Note: Please use only the link above to create accounts and sign up for our assigned group shift. Using the general Care for Real website will prevent your account from being linked to our G4G group.
• If you need to cancel your shift, you may do so on the Care for Real Volunteer Hub page. Please also email chicago@gayforgood.org so we can ensure we fill that slot as soon as possible!
