Join G4G Boston at the Annual Strawberry Festival Fundraiser!
Every year the Governor Bellingham Cary House in Chelsea hosts the event and sells strawberry shortcake to build community, invite people into the museum, and raise much needed funds.
Volunteer tasks will include:
- Setting up the event with tables and tents
- Breaking down the event
- Picking up litter before, during and after the event
- Directing and greeting people
Complimentary strawberry shortcakes (gluten-free option available) and strawberry bowls will be provided to volunteers!

What To Wear/Bring: Only desserts and small snacks might be provided. It is recommended that volunteers bring their own lunch.
Parking/Transportation: The house is accessible via commuter rail (Rockport/Newburyport line) from North station, Bus 111 from Haymarket, Bus 116/117 from Revere or Silver Line bus SL3 from South Station.
About Our Partner: The Governor Bellingham Cary House is a non profit small house museum with no paid staff and is fully volunteer run. It is one of only 2 structures in the entire state that was owned by a Colonial Governor and has been a non-profit museum for over a hundred years. Recently the board has moved to make the house more open and available to the community and has brought in more speakers and events from a diverse range of people.
