Who: The National Gay Basketball Association (NGBA) is teaming up with the Boston Gay Basketball League to host the exhilarating Boston Tea Party Classic tournament. Witness thirty-six teams from across the nation compete in a riveting round robin format, climaxing with a championship playoff on Sunday.

What: We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers from Gay For Good and Stonewall Sports to help us run this significant event smoothly. Volunteer roles include:

  • Welcome Table: Assist with player check-ins and handle cashless payments from spectators.
  • Scorekeeping: Work with another volunteer to manage the game clock and keep score.

When: Join us on Saturday, May 11, and Sunday, May 12. Shifts vary between 3 to 4 hours, running from 8 AM to 6 PM.

Where: The event will take place at the TRACK at new balance, located at 91 Guest St., Boston. Easily accessible via MBTA Bus #66 or Bus #86 from Harvard Square.

Additional Details: Prior to the tournament, we’ll provide all scorekeeping volunteers with the necessary materials, including game rules, a sample score sheet, and a tutorial video on scorekeeping. On the day, we’ll have a quick session to review using the game clock and other responsibilities to ensure you’re fully prepared.

Get Involved: Ready to make a difference? Sign up as a volunteer and be a part of this fantastic community event. Your support not only contributes to the success of the tournament but also strengthens the bonds within our community.
