G4G Boston + St. Luke's Food Pantry & Chelsea Community Meals
November 25, 2023
8:00 am - 12:00 pm
When: Saturday, November 25 | 8am – 12pm
Where: 201 Washington Avenue Chelsea, MA (entrance in the rear of the church)
About: St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Food Pantry and Chelsea Community Meals are two important organizations in Chelsea that provide food to members of the community each week. These organizations are over 15 years old and provide vital services to nearly a thousand members of the local community.
What: Volunteers will have the opportunity to help either in the Food Pantry stocking shelves, arranging food, and packaging bags of groceries for distribution to Food Pantry clients OR in the Kitchen where they will help setup, prepare, serve and clean up breakfast and lunch.
Typically, 400 members of the community receive groceries each Saturday and around 80 members of the community enjoy the healthy meal prepared my the kitchen staff.
Both aspects of the project will allow for volunteers to meet and chat with members of the larger Chelsea community, and are both vital to help the families in the community who are very grateful for our participation and generosity of time and effort.
Volunteers should plan to dress for the weather as some work will be done outside in tents.
Volunteers: 18 volunteer slots are available for this volunteer project
