About our Partner: Metro Housing | Boston mobilizes wide-ranging resources to provide innovative and personalized services that lead families and individuals to housing stability, economic security, and an improved quality of life. In 2023, they provided nearly 12,000 households with rental vouchers, conducted 50,000 counseling sessions and distributed over $44 million in rental assistance.

Metro Housing | Boston serves 30,000 Greater Boston families annually, with a coverage area inclusive of Boston proper and 29 surrounding communities and neighborhoods. Our participants are almost universally families and individuals with low to moderate incomes, with an average annual income of $20,966, and 78% have household incomes under $30,000. Our constituency is majority-minority: 49% of our participants are Black, and 29% identify as Hispanic irrespective of race. Nearly 60% live in Boston and 52% have a household member with at least one disability. These households are overwhelmingly single mothers (73%), 39% contain at least one child, and more than 65% of the families we assist with emergency rental assistance and stabilization services are headed by single mothers with multiple children.
