  • G4G Boston + MA DCR
     September 24, 2022
     9:30 am - 12:00 pm

When: Saturday, September 24 | 9:30am – 12:00pm

Where: Middlesex Fells at the Botume House (4 Woodland Rd, Stoneham)

About the MA DCR: The Mass. Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) manages the state’s parks, historical structures, and green spaces and oversees more than 450,000 acres throughout Massachusetts. The DCR’s mission is to protect, promote and enhance our common wealth of natural, cultural and recreational resources for the well-being of all.

The 2,500 acre Middlesex Fells is one of the parks managed by the DCR, providing essential ecological resources and outdoor access to thousands of Boston-area residents each year.

About the Project: Gay for Good was asked to come back after an incredibly productive gardening project this past summer! We will most likely be removing invasive plants and cleaning up trail areas on a (hopefully) crisp early autumn morning.

The Dept of Conservation and Recreation will provide tools and gloves. Everyone should wear closed toed shoes (that they don’t mind getting dirty), socks and long pants. People are also encouraged to bring a long sleeve shirt, water, a snack, sunscreen and bug spray.

The event will take place rain or shine, save for a major storm that would result in dangerous conditions.

In addition to registering with Gay for Good, you will be asked to fill out a waiver with the DCR the week of the project.

This project is limited to 25 people, however, we do encourage carpooling as there is limited parking in the area.
