9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us to remove “Mile-a-Minute”!
We will be at a little known section of the park called Farnham-Connolly to remove “Mile-a-Minute,” a destructive invasive plant that is destroying habitat and threatening the animals, birds and insects that depend on it. The plant can grow up to six inches a day, and thirty feet over the course of the season.
Date: Saturday, September 6, 2025
Time: 9am-12pm
Location: 657 Neponset St, Canton, MA 02021
Project Lead: Carey
Volunteer Slots: 20
What To Wear: Dress for the weather in clothes that can get dirty, but long pants may be preferred due to mosquitoes and ticks.
What To Bring: Water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug spray as needed. Garden gloves if you have them (some will be provided).
Parking/Transportation: There is free parking at 657-697 Neponset Street for Farnham Connolly Park. The closest public transportation may be the Commuter Rail to Canton Junction which would still involve a walk to get to the park. If you would like to attend, but do not have a car, we can ask if anyone may be able to carpool with you.
Ages: All Ages
Additional Information: A waiver from the Friends of the Blue Hills will be sent shortly before the event. If anyone is interested in gathering for lunch or a beverage after, Carey will lead a group to a nearby spot (Trillium?)
