When: Saturday, February 1, 2025 | 9:50 am – 12 noon (project starts at 10 am)

In addition to registering with Gay For Good Boston, we will send you a  registration for Cradles to Crayons in advance of the project (typically same day or next day).

Where: Cradles to Crayons,  281 Newtonville Ave, Newtonville, MA 02460  (make sure to use the address, some GPS apps direct you to their old location)

About Cradles to Crayons: Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive—at home, at school, and at play.

About this project: Activities may include sorting donations, organizing items on shelves, or “shopping” the warehouse to package the best items to give to a child. And of course to have fun with other volunteers!

Getting there: The Giving Factory is a short walk from various MBTA bus routes, as well as the Newtonville stop on the commuter rail. Visit the MBTA website for more information.

Parking: There is parking designated for volunteers in the front and back of the building and on-street parking around the building. We kindly ask that volunteers not park at The Pooch Hotel lot or the Tiem parking lot adjacent to our building.

Prepare: The Giving Factory is a warehouse environment, and is not fully climate-controlled. Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothing you do not mind getting dirty.  Volunteers are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle. There is a water station to refill during the shift.

Donations: If you want to donate goods, see the accepted items list.

Volunteer spots: 22 – To ensure we can support our project partner, please make sure you can commit to the project when signing up. If anything comes up after registering, let us know, even if it’s last minute.
