About the American Red Cross in Massachusetts: The Red Cross provides food and shelter in emergencies, operates the largest food pantry in New England, teaches lifesaving skills, trains nurses’ aides and certified nursing assistants, serves members of the Armed Forces, and more! All assistance from the Red Cross is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.
About the project: Volunteers will be distributing 1,500 bags of food, sorting and bagging groceries, and loading bags into vehicles. Most of the work will be done outdoors, so volunteers are encouraged to dress in layers and to bring a gloves and a hat. This is a great project to participate in because we will get to the see the smiles and hear the gratitude of clients. Our help is critical in providing individuals with desperately needed food. Past volunteers have found this event to be very meaningful and enjoyable.
This project is limited to 8 G4G volunteers..
