G4G Boston + MA DCR
June 11, 2022
10:00 am - 12:00 pm

WHEN: Saturday, June 11 | 10am – 12:00pm
WHERE: Middlesex Fells at the Botume House (4 Woodland Rd, Stoneham)
ABOUT: The Mass. Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) manages the state’s parks, historical structures, and green spaces and oversees more than 450,000 acres throughout Massachusetts. The DCR’s mission is to protect, promote and enhance our common wealth of natural, cultural and recreational resources for the well-being of all.
The 2,500 acre Middlesex Fells is one of the parks managed by the DCR, providing essential ecological resources and outdoor access to thousands of Boston-area residents each year.
The DCR received a “grant” for a big milkweed planting project and now they need OUR HELP planting some of the HUNDREDS of seedlings that have been delivered.
Join us as we get dirty planting these native species in their new soil homes.
The DCR will provide tools and gloves. Everyone should wear closed toed shoes (that they don’t mind getting dirty), socks and long pants. People are also encouraged to bring a long sleeve shirt, water, a snack, sunscreen and bug spray.
The event will take place rain or shine, save for a major storm that would result in dangerous conditions.
In addition to registering with Gay for Good, you will be asked to fill out a waiver with the Friends of the Fells the week of the project.
