Calling all G4G Volunteers to help with the Tornado Clean-up!
Join us as we start National Volunteer Week by helping the City of Little Rock with disaster cleanup.
Please report to Firehouse Station #9 at: N 1324 Shackleford Rd, Little Rock, AR 72211
Please be prepared to do the following:
- If you have a chainsaw, cut up downed trees to no more than 6ft long per log
- Take debris to the curb and place no more than 10 ft. from the curb
- Separate vegetation debris from construction debris from regular household garbage from tires: THE CITY WILL NOT PICK UP THE PILES IF THEY ARE NOT SEPARATED PROPERLY.
- IF YOU HAVE A PICK UP TRUCK, FLATBED OR DUMP TRUCK, PLEASE BRING IT AND HAUL STUFF TO RESERVOIR PARK. WE NEED THIS BADLY!
Beside and behind the fire station. Down the hill is a private park at 1205 N. Shackleford.
In the event of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.
Saturday, April 15th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am
Materials to Bring:
Dress appropriately for outside work and debris clearing efforts. Be sure to bring:
- Work Gloves
- Water Bottle
- Large Bucket
The City of Little Rock has some tools, but not enough for everyone. Please, bring what you can.
Afterwards, The Forge: A Church of the Nazarene is serving lunch at 1309 Old Forge Rd. They, along with Dr. Robert Williams, is providing lunch and CAW is providing water.
Be sure to wear appropriate clothing, sunscreen and bring water and gloves. More instructions are in each neighborhood sign-up.
