Transport and Parking: We will meet on the Neponset River Trail just adjacent to Shields MRI at 161 Granite Avenue, Dorchester. For those driving, there is a small parking lot owned by DCR which you can use. The #215 bus can get you to within a half block of this location.

Additional Information:

  • We will provide trash bags, trash tongs, rakes, shovels, gloves, hand sanitizer, and bug spray.
  • Please plan to bring a hat, sunscreen, water, snacks — and any favorite work gloves (we will also have gloves on-site for you.)
  • Long pants and closed-toed shoes are recommended for terrain and poison ivy.
  • Depending on the tide, we’ll clean down to the water line as we have waders in our inventory.
  • If there are folks that are interested, we will pick a nearby restaurant to gather at after the event.

About our Partner: The Neponset River Watershed Association’s mission is to protect and restore the natural resources of the Neponset River, its tributaries, and surrounding watershed lands for the benefit of present and future generations. They bring together citizens, scientists, engineers, and local officials to solve real-world problems. Their most important work is at the city and town level, recruiting volunteers to test water and carry out hands-on restoration projects, visiting schools to educate kids about water, and working with communities to stop water waste and pollution.
