How Can I Register For An Event?
Registering for a Gay for Good event is simple! Start by visiting our Events Page to find upcoming volunteer opportunities in your area or by clicking a Chapter nearest to you in the dropdown menu. Once you’ve found an event you’d like to attend, click on the event listing to view the details, create an account, and follow the prompts to sign up. You can watch a video below that provides step-by-step instructions on how to view events.

If the event is full, don’t worry! You can sign up for the waitlist, as spots may open up due to cancellations. We’re excited to have you join us and help make a positive impact in the community!

Is There Any Cost To Volunteer?
No. Individual volunteers can participate in our service projects at no cost on a first-come, first-served basis. Some volunteers choose to support Gay For Good through a monthly or annual donation, but contributions are optional.
In some cases, a nonprofit partner may require a background check, which could involve a fee. If cost is a barrier, we’re happy to work with volunteers to help offset the expense.
On occasion, we also host ticketed special events and fundraisers separate from our regular volunteer projects. Some social gatherings may require attendees to purchase their own food, beverages, or event tickets.
Corporate or group volunteer events may include a fee to cover planning, logistics and/or materials.
Is There A Minimum Age To Volunteer?
Age requirements are set by our partner organizations and vary for each event. If age restrictions are not published on a particular event, please contact the regional chapter to inquire. You can find a list of chapter emails here.
How Do I Know When There Is An Event Posted?
The best way to stay up to date on Gay For Good events is to join the mailing list and select your local chapter(s). Chapters use Mailchimp to send out an announcement as new service projects and events are planned. A running list of events can be found on our website here, or you can visit each chapter’s dedicated webpage to see what they have planned.
Do I Have To Identify As LGBTQ+ To Volunteer With Gay For Good?
No, you do not have to identify as LGBTQ+ to volunteer with Gay For Good! We welcome everyone, including allies, who are passionate about making a positive impact in the community and supporting our mission of promoting inclusivity and fostering understanding through service. Our events bring together LGBTQ+ individuals and allies to volunteer side by side, helping to build connections and strengthen communities. Whether you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community or simply want to give back, we’re excited to have you join us!
There Is No Chapter In My City. How Can I Start My Own?
We welcome new chapter inquires! Please send an email to hello@gayforgood.org with your name, your location, why you would like to start a chapter, and we will follow up to schedule an introductory informational phone or zoom call.
