Join Gay for Good DC at the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park

Join Gay for Good DC in our first partnership with the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park, as they host their third annual Frolics & Diversions event. Last year over 1,500 participants visited the historic Great Falls Tavern during the event to enjoy nature, play a variety of games and learn about the history of the tavern and the canal. This year, the event will feature fun activities like Shoe the Mule, Open the Lock and an obstacle course—plus the Maryland Jousting Tournament Association and the Seneca Bluegrass Band.

Gay for Good volunteers will help run the various activities and guide visitors through the event.

We will head nearby for lunch following the event.

Parking/Transportation: The event location is accessible only by car, so we will be coordinating carpools from the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Station (Red Line). Please indicate your transportation preference when registering to volunteer.

About Our Partner: The C&O Canal became a national historic park in January, 1971. Today park rangers operate the Great Falls Tavern Visitor Center out of the 1831 Crommelin House and host thousands of nature- and history-lovers each year.
