G4G SF and SF Rec & Parks Service Event

Join Gay For Good San Francisco as we support the SF Recreation & Parks at a new location in Golden Gate Park – White Crowned Sparrow Habitat at the Bison Paddock. We will volunteer with the Golden Gate Bird Alliance to help restore the habitat of the White-crowned sparrow and lend a hand with weeding and tending to a garden of native plants that comprise a critical nesting and feeding area for this sparrow. While working, we will also learn from Rec & Parks naturalists about the ecology of the habitat and preservation of its diverse elements.

Date: Saturday, February 15, 2025

Time: 9:00am–12:00pm  (please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in and group photo)

Location: 1237 John F Kennedy Dr, San Francisco, CA 94121 at the Bison Paddock
Meet at the middle of the Bison Paddock fence located on John F Kennedy Drive between 36th Avenue and Chain of Lakes Drive East.

Public Transportation: 5R bus to Fulton & 43rd, 31 bus to Balboa & 43rd, N-Judah train to Judah & 40th.

What To Wear: Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes, long pants and layers of clothing for seasonal weather and physical work—you will get dirty!
