Partner with Gay For Good to Complete Your Welcoming Congregations Practices of Welcome Renewal

The fifth Practice of Welcome Renewal is
Support a Welcoming Project.
Welcoming Congregations (WCs) are congregations that give generously of their gifts and resources. To remain current, WCs may donate a sizable donation to a local and national organization, campaign, or project that uplifts the dignity of LGBTQ+ / TGQNB communities.

Ways you can support Gay For Good

  • Share the Plate Donation—If you have a Share the Plate practice, this is an easy way to support our mission, vision, and values. We are happy to provide additional information to help the leaders  in your congregation discern if Gay For Good should be a recipient organization.
  • Donate Space and/or Materials—These photos show a great example when Arlington Street Church in Boston welcomed our volunteers to their chapel to handcraft Valentine’s Day cards for elders at nearby nursing homes. We are happy to plan collaborative projects in your community spaces.
  • Invite Volunteers to Support LGBTQ+ Campaigns—Horizon UU in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, partnered with Equality Texas and the Human Rights Campaign for a postcard party, and invited our volunteers to write personalized postcards to their elected officials. With the current upswing in proposed legislation against the liberties and rights of the LGBTQ+ community, our volunteers can help amplify messages of justice.
  • Guest Speaker—Our former board chair is a Unitarian Universalist lay leader and is available to “fill the pulpit” by sharing reflections about our organization, building community through volunteerism, and other LGBTQ+ issues. He is available in person anywhere in New England (or virtually via zoom everywhere). All honorariums will be donated back to Gay For Good.
  • Faithify Campaigns—We had a very successful Faithify campaign to engage with a governance coach to help train our volunteer board. We owe the success of that campaign to your support. We will be sure to list any current Faithify campaigns here, or you are welcome to work with us to identify a need and co-create a new campaign.
