G4G SF and LYRIC LGBTQ+ Youth Center Service Event
Movin’ On Up! For the past year and a half, LYRIC’s home office, the Purple House, has been under construction. Renovations are finally complete, and they need our help getting the house ready for youth programming! Gay For Good volunteers will be supporting LYRIC’s youth moving back home.
Date: Saturday, April 5, 2025
Time: 10:00am–2:00pm PST
Location: LYRIC Main Office – 127 Collingwood St, San Francisco, CA 94114
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your shift. We’ll meet out front for introductions, badging, and a group photo.
Public Transit: Near the Castro Muni Station and bus lines 22, 24, 33, 35, and 37.
Activities will include the following: Moving/unpacking boxes, organizing desk space, setting up/building furniture, cleaning out the supply closet, touching up paint, planting in the garden, and other move-in related tasks. Volunteers should be able to position themselves safely to reach inside shelves, ascend/descend stairs while carrying items (a small elevator is on site for accessibility needs only), and move boxes/furniture weighing up to 40 lbs.
Recommended Attire: Please wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty or sweaty and closed-toed, non-slip shoes for safety. Work gloves optional.
Snacks: Snacks and refreshments will be provided by LYRIC – Thank you!
Lunch Afterwards (optional): Gyro Express or Dumpling Kitchen on Castro Street
COVID Guidelines: Masks are optional. Please cancel if you are not feeling well. Please have a copy of your proof of vaccination available upon arrival.

For over 36 years, LYRIC has provided both life-changing and life-saving services for LGBTQ+ young people. LYRIC’s mission is to build community and inspire positive social change through education enhancement, career trainings, health promotion, and leadership development with LGBTQ+ youth, their families, and allies of all races, classes, genders, and abilities.
