G4G Pittsburgh + Peace & Friendship Farm | August 20, 2023

Join G4G Pittsburgh to work on the Peace and Friendship Farm. This is an urban farm located in the Hill District of Pittsburgh. We will be completing a variety of hands-on projects, including spreading mulch, landscaping, building eco-friendly animal barriers, and assembling raised garden beds.

Location: 678 Somers Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219

Age Restriction: All ages are welcome.

Additional Details: On the corner of Webster Avenue and Somers Street in the Hill District. Parking will be available on the street near the farm. Multiple bus stops are located nearby.

Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and that reflect the weather on the given day. If rain is in the forecast, you may want to bring a raincoat and boots! If it is hot and sunny, a hat and long sleeves may protect you best from the sun. We will be actively working – dress so you can work comfortably! Please bring gloves if you would like to use them and water.

About Our Partner: The Peace And Friendship Farm is an agricultural site for commercial urban farming for veterans and community gardening and farming for residents in the Hill District neighborhood. All activities, including conservation, are led by veterans. The Peace and Friendship Farm welcomes people to come learn how to sustainably grow healthy organic food and to socially engage with one another in ways that build peace and friendship.
