G4G Palm Springs + “Adopt a Nursing Home” Service Project

We are excited to announce a new volunteer opportunity we have within the Palm Springs community!

Our friends at the California Nursing and Rehabilitation Center have been dedicated to providing excellent care for the body, mind and spirit throughout the COIVD-19 Pandemic.  The care they provide is based on their belief that each resident has the right to quality care, quality of life and optimal health and well-being.  As a thank you to the staff, Gay For Good Palm Springs will be providing weekly goodies, treats and cards to show how much we appreciate their front-line, essential worker support.

A few ideas would be snacks or fresh baked cookies, along with a card to say thank you.  The logistics are equally as simple, once you sign up for a week, someone from the Gay For Good Leadership Team will reach out with drop off details – you can leave the goodies and treats at the front door and it remains completely contactless.

Your mission:

1. Pick a week and RSVP for that slot (1 person or small group needed each week)
2. Purchase and pack treats and cards of appreciation for a staff of 40
3. Keep an eye on your inbox for an email from G4G Palm Springs with all the drop off details
4. Deliver your goodies on a day during your week (Monday-Friday) to the facility in North Palm Springs.
5. Snap a selfie for social (tag @gayforgood) AND send your picture to palmsprings@gayforgood.org
6. Pat yourself on the back for making a difference for essential workers!
