WHAT: Gay For Good volunteers will work alongside L.A. Kitchen chefs, kitchen staff, and alumni or students from their Empower Program to transform donated produce from local farmers and wholesale companies into wholesome healthy meals. The meals are distributed to their charitable partners that serve Los Angeles’ aging, low income, and homeless populations.
Activities may include cleaning, cutting, peeling, zesting and packaging meals. Volunteers will learn and practice valuable knife skills and kitchen safety protocols under the direction of trained L.A. Kitchen culinary team members. No prior kitchen prep experience is necessary.
OPTIONAL POST PROJECT LUNCH: Everyone is invited to join us after the project at Barbara’s at the Brewery located about a mile down the road at 620 Moulton Ave,
Los Angeles, California 90031.
