G4G Denver + A Precious Child

G4G Denver is teaming up with A Precious Child for Marshall Fire disaster relief support!

Help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for Marshall Fire victims accessing A Precious Child’s Resource Center, which is set up like a retail store where families can access clothing and essentials – free of charge. We will assist clients during their shopping visits, replenish and organize areas throughout the store, and assist with check-out.

Please note: APC requires all volunteers to register on their website – instructions are below!

A Precious Child’s mission is to provide children in need with opportunities and resources to empower them to achieve their full potential. They work with more than 546 agency partners throughout eight Denver Metro counties. A Precious Child provides disadvantaged and displaced children with wrap-around support to break the cycle of poverty.

Date: Saturday, September 17
Time: 12:15pm – 4:00pm
Location: 7051 W 118th Avenue, Broomfield, CO 80020 – (volunteer check-in at Unit 6)

Project Tasks: Assist with setting up & cleaning up the shopping space; help restock, organize, sort, and hang donations; welcome clients and assist them in finding what they need; assist with check-out (bagging & weighing items)

Volunteers Needed: 6
Age restrictions: Volunteers aged 13-15 are able to volunteer with an adult. Volunteers age 16+ are able to volunteer on their own.

**A Precious Child requires registration on their website**

1. Visit your online Volunteer Event: Disaster Relief Support (12:30pm-4:00pm) on Sept 17th
2. Sign in if you’ve volunteered with us before -OR- create account if you’re a new volunteer at A Precious Child. Your join code is: GAY4GOOD.
3. Once you have created your account or logged in you will be re-directed to the group’s volunteer event. Click the red “Sign Up” button to register. If the site doesn’t redirect you, just click the hyperlink in step one to get to your team’s specific volunteer shift.
4. Review our Volunteer Authorization, Waiver, and Release Form and accept that you understand.
5. Congrats – your registration is complete!

Things to know:

• Wear close-toed shoes
• Wear appropriate clothes for the weather (warehouse can get hot/cold!)
• Water bottle & snacks
• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds
• Will be on your feet for long periods of time, if not the full shift
• Must be welcoming to all volunteers, staff, and all clients
• Please have a friendly and welcoming demeanor to clients, volunteers, donors, and staff
• Please respect and maintain the confidentiality of A Precious Child clients, volunteers, partners, and donors
