     9:00 am - 11:00 am

Join G4G Boston on the beach! We will help The Trustees in cleaning up this beautiful beach next to the exquisite Crane Estate in Ipswich.

Date: Monday, July 22
Time: 9am–11am
Meet location: Crane Beach, 310 Argilla Road, Ipswich, MA. More details will be forthcoming.

About the project: We will join staff from The Trustees and other volunteers in one of their quarterly beach clean-ups. Meet at the Crane Beach bathrooms where we will collect supplies (bags, gloves) and then take a beach walk to collect marine debris.

This project is limited to 30 G4G volunteers.

G4G Chapter Project Coordinator: Carey

About our Partner:  Founded by landscape architect Charles Eliot in 1891, The Trustees has, for 133 years, been a catalyst for important ideas, endeavors, and progress in Massachusetts. As a steward of distinctive and dynamic places of both historic and cultural value, The Trustees is the nation’s first preservation and conservation organization, and its landscapes and landmarks continue to inspire discussion, innovation, and action today as they did in the past. The Trustees is a nonprofit and their 116 sites welcome millions of guests annually. www.thetrustees.org.

Transport and Parking: I don’t believe there is an efficient, cost-effective way to get to Crane Beach except by car, but I am willing to explore car-pooling opportunities. If you would like to participate but do not have transportation, email me at carey_erdman@msn.com and let me know of your interest and roughly where you live.

Additional Information: Volunteers should come dressed in layers for varying weather conditions, wear appropriate footwear, bring work gloves, hat, sunscreen, refillable water bottle and snacks.  For those that are interested, we can make plans for lunch somewhere after the service project (at the beach, Woodman’s Lobster and Seafood Shack in Essex, Rockport…?)
