ABOUT: Join us on Saturday, December 8th or Sunday, December 9th to volunteer for Holiday in the Heartland!
Each evening will feature a special musical guest, program, silent and live auctions, presentation of the annual One Heartland Heart of Hope Award, and more!
VOLUNTEER SHIFTS:
Loading/Unloading (Saturday, 10am-1pm) – 3-4 Volunteers
Volunteers will help load items at the Minneapolis office and unload at the Dakota Jazz Club. They will help distribute supplies/items where they need to go.
Set Up (Saturday and Sunday, 1pm-5pm) – 3-4 Volunteers
Volunteers will help with a variety of tasks during set up. There will be silent auction set up, assembling programs with inserts, placing VIP mugs and programs at tables, registration packet stuffing and registration table set up as well as photo booth and One Heartland information table.
Guest Registration (Saturday and Sunday, 4:30pm-7pm) –3-4 Volunteers
Volunteers will work directly with guests as they arrive. Responsibilities include: greeting guests, helping them check in through Bidr, explaining the contents of registration packets and directing guests into the event.
Silent Auction (Saturday and Sunday, 5pm-7pm) – 2 Volunteers
Volunteers will circulate throughout the silent auction space assisting bidders with the bid process on their phones and tablet (if needed). They will also explain the ornaments.
Raffle (Saturday and Sunday, 5pm-7pm) – 2 Volunteers
Volunteers will help sell raffle tickets with blinking rings to guests for the 50:50 raffle drawing.
Live Auction and Fund-a-Need (FAN) (Saturday and Sunday, 8pm-9pm) – 2 Volunteers
There are two main jobs during this time: spotters and recorders.
- Spotters will act as a visual liaison between bidders and the live auctioneer. Spotters will make sure the auctioneer sees guests who are bidding.
- Recorders will verify winning bid amounts, record winning bid numbers, and collect signatures.
Both spotters and recorders will assist bidders (if needed) with entering donations on their phones.
Following the end of both, One Heartland staff will collect recording sheets and will verify with Bidr that donations have been entered.
Merchandise Packing and Checkout (Saturday and Sunday, 7pm – 9:30pm) – 4-6 Volunteers
Volunteers will work to pack each guest’s winning items. Once all items are packed, volunteers will help with Guest Checkout and Item Pick Up. Volunteers will greet guests, verify purchases and retrieve items. Volunteers may help guests bring items to car.
Clean Up (Saturday and Sunday, 9:30pm – 10:00pm) 4 Volunteers
Volunteers will assist with packing up all event materials and placing them in storage for the night.
