Gay for Good San Diego is excited to assist our friends at the San Diego Symphony Rady Shell. We are proud to partner with them as they showcase Ofrenda: A Dia De Los Muertos Celebration.  Gay for Good volunteers will assist at ticket gates with ticket scanning, wayfinding, answering questions regarding security and entry procedures, digital ticket access, and ADA transportation within the venue. During intermission and post-show, volunteers will assist with managing restrooms lines.

The last date to sign up for this event is October 27 or until all spots are filled.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR EVERY VOLUNTEER TO KNOW

Shift Timeline:

First Shuttle: 2:15 pm

Arrival: 3:15 pm (last Shuttle from the parking garage)

Volunteer Briefing: 3:30 pm

Gate Open: 4:00pm

Performance: 6:00pm

Intermission time is still TBD. Volunteers are welcome to stay for the concert and sit on the lawn. We can also arrange for a return shuttle to the parking garage after intermission for anyone that would like to leave early.

Arrival

All staff and volunteers should enter through Gate 3 at the rear of the venue (near the fishing pier). Please report to building B upon arrival to sign in for your shift and meet with staff/volunteers. Security staff of other volunteers on the shuttle can point you in the right direction.

What to Wear

Footwear: Comfortable and conservative black or white closed-toe shoes. (NO sandals, clogs, sling-backs, or open-toes shoes.)

Shirts: All volunteers should wear a solid white shirt. Shirts are required to be tucked in if length falls below hips. (Sleeveless shirts are not permitted.)

Pants: Solid black slacks or skirts may be worn by volunteers. Full-length pants are required. (NO shorts, skorts, or capris.) Only knee-length or calf-length skirts are permitted. Solid black tights are recommended. Leggings or athletic pants are not acceptable attire.

Hats: Solid black or white hats without advertisements are allowed. Hats bearing the San Diego Symphony logo are also permitted.

TIME: 3:15 pm to 6:15 pm (Volunteers are invited to stay for the performance)

LOCATION: The Rady Shell- 222 Marina Park Way, San Diego, CA 92101

PARKING:  Free parking is available for volunteers at a remote lot on the Caesar Chavez College Campus, located on the corner of National Avenue and Caesar Chavez Parkway (1901 National Avenue). Parking passes will be sent via email after registration is closed, October 27. Please print out the parking pass and place it on your dash. Shuttle service is available from the parking garage to the venue. Shuttles depart every 15-20 minutes, with service beginning at 2:15 pm. The last shuttle from the parking lot will depart at 4:40 pm. Please arrive early to avoid missing the shuttle.

Volunteers are welcome to use public transportation or purchase parking in a different location.
