Founded in 1950, St. Anthony’s has been a comprehensive safety net service center in San Francisco. The Free Clothing Program (FCP) is the largest free clothing program in San Francisco and provides fresh, clean clothes to low-income families and individuals, including those who are experiencing homelessness. The program’s goal is to distribute the highest quality of clothing possible to ensure that guests have a positive and dignified experience.
Date: Saturday, April 19, 2025
Time: 9:30am–12:00pm PST
Location: St Anthony’s – 121 Golden Gate Ave, San Francisco, CA 94102
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your shift. We’ll meet out front for introductions, badging, and a group photo.
Public Transit: Near the Civic Center Muni/BART Station and bus lines 6, 7, 9, 49 and 90.
Activities will include the following: Sorting, hanging, and quality checking clothing and assisting as personal shoppers for guests. Volunteer shifts may also include creating emergency clothing kits and hygiene item kits. Volunteers must be able to stand for up to three hours, lift up to 20 lbs, and participate in activities with repetitive motion.
Recommended Attire: Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
Lunch Afterwards (optional): The Melt, 925 Market Street
COVID Guidelines: Masks are optional. Please cancel if you are not feeling well. Please have a copy of your proof of vaccination available upon arrival.
About Our Partner: Saint Anthony’s mission is to feed, heal, shelter, clothe, lift the spirits of those in need, and create a society in which all persons flourish. They provide community services such as hot nutritious meals to over 1,000 guests each day as well as new and gently-used clothing to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and poverty through their Free Clothing Program (FCP). St. Anthony honors diversity and treats all people with dignity and respect. They seek ways to eliminate injustice and to educate and empower people so that all may claim their rights in society.
