G4G SF Maitri Heels for Hope Service Event
Gay For Good volunteers will be supporting Maitri Compassionate Care with their annual variety show fundraiser – Heels for Hope. We will be helping with event reception, registration, auction check-in & check-out and break down. All volunteers are invited to stay for the variety show which starts 7pm.
Date: Saturday, June 7, 2025
Event Time: 4:30pm – 10:00pm (Split over 2 shifts)
Location: Marines Memorial Theater 609 Sutter St, San Francisco, CA 94102
Please arrive on time for your shift for introductions and group photo.
VOLUNTEER SHIFTS & TASKS:
Shift #1 runs 2 hours 45 minutes and shift #2 runs 3 hours 15 minutes. Shifts overlap to maintain continuity of tasks during the event. It is critical to arrive on time as not to disrupt the variety show which starts 7pm.
Shift 1: 4:30pm–7:15pm: Reception, Registration and Auction (12 positions, 2 hours 45 minutes)
Shift 2: 6:45pm–10:00pm: Auction and Break down (12 positions, 3 hours 15 minutes)
Volunteer Check-in: Located 10th floor, outside the ballroom
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Public Transit: The Powell Muni/BART Station and the 2 bus stop nearby.
Recommended Attire: Festive attire! Please wear comfortable shoes as you will be on your feet.
Refreshments: Water and light snacks will be provided.
COVID Guidelines: Masks are optional. Please cancel if you are not feeling well.

About Our Partners: Maitri is Sanskrit for “compassionate friendship.” Maitri provides compassionate residential and hospice care for people who have disabling HIV/AIDS or who are recovering from gender affirmation surgery.
