Gay For Good San Diego and the California State Parks Foundation

Project Description: Help G4G San Diego and the Park Champions of the California State Parks Foundation protect and preserve sensitive sand dune habitat by hand removing invasive plant species.  Kindly RSVP before February 9th for an accurate head count for the provided lunch.

WHERE:

Silver Strand State Beach

5000 Highway 75
Coronado, CA 92118

The beach is located 4.5 miles south of the city of Coronado on Highway 75. The park is located on the sand-spit that forms the outer edge of San Diego Bay between Coronado and Imperial Beach. The park has 2 ½ miles of ocean beach and ½ mile on the bay. The entrance to the park is near Coronado Cays, on Highway 75, which serves as a divider between the ocean side of the park and the bay side.

WHO:

All G4G San Diego volunteers are welcome! This event is open to everyone of all ages, abilities, and gender identities/expressions. We ask that you sign a G4G San Diego waiver and release (which will be provided for you) as well as a California State Parks Foundation waiver before your volunteer shift begins. Please wear closed-toed shoes, sunscreen and/or a hat, and bring a water bottle for this event.  We will also take a group photo.
