8:30 am - 11:30 am
WHAT: G4G OC/LONG BEACH + Niguel Botanical Preserve
WHEN: Saturday, April 20, 2018 at 8:30AM – 11:30AM
WHERE: 29751 Crown Valley Parkway, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677
ABOUT: Back in the OC for our annual community Earth Day project that mixes us in with other volunteer groups in the South Orange County Community. We’ll work together, like last year…probably adopt a few loners cause we’re so organized! We’re heading back to help the Niguel Botanical Preserve, where one of our founding chapter leaders, Monty McDivitt is a board member.
This project has it all as we work with the Parks and Rec Department for Laguna Niguel planting, building and cleaning-up throughout the morning. They need an active group like us to help with the other community volunteers that have signed up, so get ready to mingle! Volunteers are asked to wear old clothing, sun screen and hats and bring gardening gloves. This is a kid friendly project if you want to bring the youngsters (ages 6 and up). After you check-in and get all “legaled-up”, look for us gathering at our G4G banner on the hill.
More about Niguel Botanical Gardens
The Niguel Botanical Preserve is an 18-acre botanical garden located within Crown Valley Community Park in the City of Laguna Niguel. They are open 365 days a year from dawn to dusk, free of charge! The organization’s goal is to display garden worthy plants appropriate to the Southern California region collected from areas of the world with similar Mediterranean climates. It started in 1981 as a community vegetable garden, the Preserve represents the vision of local community leaders who dreamed of horticultural education and the enjoyment of future generations.
