WHAT: Join G4G NYC and Hudson River Park Horticultural Project!

WHEN: July 27, 2019 at 8:30 am – 12:00 pm

WHERE: 26th Street entrance to Hudson River Park on the esplanade in front of the Pier 66 Community Sailing Boathouse

Directions: Turn West on 26th Street until you cross the West Side Highway. Walk past the maintenance building to esplanade walkway closest to the river and continue north past the Frying Pan. HRPK Volunteer tent will be on your right directly across from the Community Sailing Boathouse.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: 

Volunteers will engage in a revitalization project in the uptown section of Hudson River
Park. Volunteers will engage in a team-building activity that connects them to the Park and
West side community. They will learn more about Hudson River Park’s urban ecology,
volunteerism and park stewardship.

Project Objectives
1. Non-native species removal and debris collection
2. Renovation and renewal of habitat classroom and work path
3. Improve garden aesthetics through clearing, cutback and raking of adjacent areas
to increase public enjoyment of this natural space

What to Expect
1. Participants should dress for the weather in “outdoor work” clothes with closed toe
shoes. Long pants, hat and sunglasses recommended
2. All necessary safety equipment, tools, water and snacks will be provided along with
an on-site orientation and task instruction
3. Reusable water bottles will be provided
4. No experience necessary, just a willingness to work outdoors and get down in the
dirt
