October Service Project #2
Howard University Grounds Cleanup

IMPT: We have two events planned for the weekend of October 19/20 and we are kindly asking volunteers to choose one project or the other (please do not rsvp for both). Thank you in advance for helping us to ensure that more folx get a chance to grab a volunteer spot. 

We’ll provide the gloves and trash bags, you provide the beautification skills as we clean up litter around Howard University’s campus. Plus, this will be our first event partnering with the school’s undergraduate LGBTQ+ student group, CASCADE (Coalition of Activist Students Celebrating the Acceptance of Diversity and Equality)!

As always, we’ll head nearby for a post-event brunch. (Attendees will be responsible for their own food and beverage expenses.) Details to be announced prior to the event.

About our partner organization: CASCADE is Howard University’s official undergraduate LGBTQ+ student organization representing all schools and colleges. The group’s mission and purpose is to celebrate, uplift, and advocate for all LGBTQ+ students on campus. As one of the oldest LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations on an HBCU campus, CASCADE works to set the tone on a national level for how Black queer people should be treated. They work hard on the issues, but also provide a space to learn, grow, and have fun.
