     April 19, 2023
     1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Springtime!

We will be working with the Franklin Park Conservatory horticulture team to prep the gardens and interior spaces for spring!

Activities include weeding, mulch replacement, planting, etc. This will involve kneeling, stooping, and bending. If anyone has any allergies, please note we will be coming into contact with a variety of plants and will also be in areas where there may be bees.

All volunteers will be invited to stay after their shift is finished to explore the Conservatory free of charge!

Date: Wednesday, April 19
Time: 1pm–3pm
Location: 1777 E Broad St, Columbus, OH 43203

Volunteers can park anywhere in the Conservatory main parking lot. The Group Tour Entrance is just to the south of the Main Entrance—there is a brick path that leads to the entrance next to a linden tree.

What To Wear: DRESS FOR THE WEATHER! If it looks like rain, ponchos or other rain gear is smart to bring.  Closed toed shoes ARE REQUIRED for all members of the group.

What To Bring: If anyone has their own gardening gloves, they are welcome to bring them, but we will have gloves that can be used while working.

Additional Information:

  • The Franklin Conservatory requires a waiver that will be sent to each participant prior to the event. We will also have extras at the door.
  • We ask that volunteers to arrive fifteen minutes prior to the event at the Group Tour Entrance of the Conservatory as activities begin promptly at 1pm and we will be deep within the property of the conservatory after.

Project Lead: Mike
Volunteers Needed: 10
Age Restrictions: Open to all ages.
